Is the noctua nh-d15 worth it? Hi all Here in nz, the d15 sits just shy of $200, im happy to falk out the cash if the performance is actually there, im currently using a $20 deepcool cooler with my 10700kf, it works beautifully keeping temps low during gaming but my temps skyrocket to 98 degrees during video rendering causing the pc to crash Also, the NH-D15 has more thermal mass than the Evo 212. This Noctua has better heat removal capacity, which is what you want from a cooling device. The 212 Evo is a budget cooler and has average stock speeds but falls short of the levels set by the NH-D15. The latter promises great and quiet performance.
Heatsink Cover for NH-D15. Does anyone have either the black cover or the color swap covers? Are they worth it? I honestly feel that is something that should be included with the cooler. Conclusions. The NH-D15S is at least as good as its predecessor, the NH-D15. It accomplishes Noctua’s main aims of making more room for a 1 st -slot card, bringing down the cost of the cooler, and making this heatsink truly compatible with tall RAM. So I have been modding my CM 690 III to fit two noctua 200mm fans as front intake, another 120mm on the bottom as intake and two 120mm fans as rear/top exhaust. The CPU is cooled by the NH-D15 and is amazingly quiet. I have set my sights on an Asus x Noctua 4080, but I have seen the news on the Super variants.

Less expensive coolers like the AK620 "match" the NH-D15 at lower loads, and as I said, there are cheaper coolers than the AK620 that will perform at least as well as it does. However, at very high loads, $30 - $60 coolers absolutely do not match the NH-D15 or Dark Rock Pro 4. And it's because those more expensive cooler have more robust Overclocked 12600k (5.0Ghz with 1 and 2 cores, 4.9Ghz with 3 and 4 cores, 4.7Ghz all cores, 3.9Ghz E-cores), -100mV. ID Cooling SE 226 XT, single tower single fan, a lot cheaper and smaller than the D15. Temperature: Tops out at about 68 degrees C on cinebench. Gaming doesn't go above 60, usually 55.
The d15 is not a Fan. Its a dual tower heatsink. People using Fan for heatsink drive me up the wall. The d15 is overkill for a 5600x if budget is tight. Otherwise, nope that's fine. Looking at the GPU he is going to buy (AMD RX 6800 XT) + the memory kit he got + the SSD he picked, he clearly isn't on a tight budget.
